Paris FC has never shied away from its deep ties to the French capital and its powerhouse neighbor, Paris Saint-Germain. But as the club takes its first steps in Ligue 1 after a 46-year wait, Antoine Arnault is keen to set the record straight: these two teams operate in entirely different worlds."We're really good friends with PSG, and we're thrilled for Ousmane," the executive says, nodding to Ousmane Dembélé's 2025 Ballon d'Or win. "But we're tiny compared to them.

We're in a whole other league.

"This candid admission underscores Paris FC's approach: avoid the futile trap of measuring up against a European behemoth, and instead carve out their own path.

"We're going to play our hand against other clubs, with a fresh proposition," Arnault explains.

Forging a Unique Identity Rather than mimicking PSG's model

Paris FC is focused on standing out through its own vision. The club is betting on sporting stability, smart targeted signings, and bringing in seasoned leaders. The goal is straightforward: establish a strong foothold in Ligue 1 without rushing the process.

Complementarity Over Competition

Historically, Paris FC and PSG share common origins, splitting ways back in the early 1970s. This shared heritage naturally raises questions today: Will sharing Ligue 1 turn their bond into a rivalry, or keep it friendly? Arnault's take is pragmatic: "It wouldn't make sense to stack ourselves against Europe's giants. Our job is to write our own story." In a city where PSG shines on the global stage, Paris FC aims to chart its course in harmony, not conflict.
