Paris FC has sealed the loan signing of Malian international Hamari Traoré from Real Sociedad, running until June 2027. At 33, the right-back brings over 250 Ligue 1 appearances (Reims, Rennes), a Coupe de France victory, and 29 caps for Mali. His proven stamina, defensive discipline and ability to surge forward made him Stéphane Gilli’s top choice.
The timing answers a clear need: even after a 1–0 win over Metz on August 31, Paris FC’s back line still showed gaps in positioning and one-on-one duels. Before that result, the team was often exposed in transitions, and the right flank struggled to contain mid-table opponents. Traoré arrives to directly plug those structural holes.
Tactically, Gilli now has a dependable wing-back who can hold shape at the back while contributing in attack. Traoré’s leadership and international experience should also strengthen the locker-room dynamic. In the coming weeks, Paris FC expects fewer turnovers through the middle and more reliable cover whenever opponents push up the field.
In the medium term, this move sends a clear message: Paris FC is building its campaign on defensive solidity, aiming to convert that backbone into a genuine push toward the top of Ligue 2.
